Lead Me to the Cross †

January 21, 2009

Try to close your eyes while listening to this song. Feel every message in the lyrics and later on, you may find yourself crying. It will definitely make you realize that God is a benevolent God because he sacrificed his life to save us from our sins. He was scourged to death, crucified, all was done FOR YOU at the cross of Cavalry. So let this song bless you and inspire you to make you feel that God is always there for you, he will save you. Just call on him and he will never fail you. God bless!

Nurses’ Chaos

January 14, 2009

If you ask a nursing student why he/she took up BS Nursing, the most common answer is: “Yun kasi ang gusto ng parents ko kasi indemand daw saka malaki ang sweldo sa abroad”. Because of this kind of mentality, the population of nurses and nursing students in the Philippines had become over abundant. Thus, the newly graduates are finding it hard to seek for jobs. The competitions among nursing applicants are very stiff. As what I’ve heard from my professor, even in applying for volunteers are very difficult making it hard to obtain the experience they need. That’s why, some nurses prefer to apply in different occupations other than a nurse.

I am an upcoming 4th year nursing student and these are the problems I am worrying about. Not only me, but everyone in my batch. Though we are aware of this reality, we don’t know what to do. We are now in the midst of it and it’s hard to come back. How about us? What future do awaits us? We should now find solutions to this mounting problem as soon as possible because we don’t want to be a jobless RN to join the rank of unemployed.

How to Court a Guy?

January 11, 2009

In our culture, we are accustomed to the traditions that the men are the ones who are responsible to do the the first move. And we, the ladies, are the ones who need to wait (wait and wait until we die) for the guy to court us. Isn’t’ it this is so unfair? Well, it’s 2009! We’re now in touch generation! Perhaps this is the time to set aside those “Maria-Clara-Like” beliefs. Consider this situation: You like a guy and you know he feels the same way. But he’s just so “torpe” to tell you or he’s so doubtful if you’re his “Ms. Right” and you’re so impatient to wait for him to do the move? Well that’s a big problem. Here are some tips how to court a guy with my own style. *wink*

  • Don’t be so obvious that you’re courting. Remember you are still a girl and needs to save the reputation. Be inconspicuous in your words and actions.
  • Impress him. Show him your best shot. Be friends with him and let him see for a great person you are.
  • Try to do things together. Like play online games together, study or do your projects together, or do some of the things he likes to do like playing basketball, biking etc. You know, guys are impressed if a girl can do what guys do. It can add to your “ganda points”.
  • Let him know you care. Text or call him once in a while. But never stalk him. Call him when you know he will least expect it just to let him know you were thinking about him.
  • Be funny and approachable. Let him feel he can be himself and talk to you about anything. Show your humorous side. Remember, guys love people who they can laugh and have fun with.
  • Be yourself. Don’t pretend you’re someone else. Let him appreciate you with whom you really are.
  • And finally, if you see that you are comfortable with each other and still he is so silent about “You and Me”, do the move! Tell him all about your feelings towards him. Don’t be afraid if he’ll reject you. Well, if he does. Who cares! At least you tried. But if he says yes! Congratulations! Let’s Drink! (Laugh out Loud).

Well, I hope this will also work for you to catch your Mr. Right because this are the tactics i did to make HIM, MINE!!!

How To Be a Drummer?

Percussion is one of the most popular instruments in the world. Playing with it can be very fun, cool and impressive. Like any other instruments, the drums are hard to learn. It is not as easy as it seems, as there is more to the drums than just hitting something with a stick. If you’re just starting out and have never played before, learning to play drums is very frustrating. That’s why, most newbies begin to play and then soon quit. It’s true that some people could easily cope up with the drumming skills faster than the others but it is definitely no reason to quit! If you get disappointed or discouraged because you can’t play them very well, don’t give up! With time, practice, and experience you’ll get better. Then you can show off to your friends.

Here are some tips what you need to do to become a good drummer as you wanted to be!

  • Be Patient

If you’re an impatient kind of person, then drumming is not for you because learning to play drums needs perseverance. It takes time to develop drum skills. Since it’s a combination of
coordination and timing, it will not come natural to you. That’s why you must develop it. Yes it is frustrating but try to keep your cool. It will come with more practice.

  • Can’t afford to buy a drum set? That’s not a problem!

If you can’t afford to buy a drum set, it doesn’t mean you don’t have the rights to learn to play drums! You only need is your hands and your imagination. Listen to your favorite song and then try to go along with it’s drumbeat. Imagine your left hand is for the snare, your right hand is for the cymbals, and your left foot is for the bass. Of course you need to be familiar with what it’s sound so you know when to use which hands. In this way, you will be practicing your hands and feet coordination. Then when your hands and feet had been familiar with it, try to rent a one hour drum practice in band studios near you so you can apply it for real.

  • Practice, practice and practice

It isn’t realistic to expect perfection overnight. That’s why you need to practice, practice and practice. Devote some time to practicing a simple beat. It may seem boring, but you have to stick to it. Play the same simple beat for several hours straight until you get the hang of it. And then eventually, you will find yourself improving and that will keeping you inspired!

  • Watch Videos

Surely, you will learn a lot from watching videos in Youtube or in other tutorial site and it’s for free! I suggest to watch videos of Mike Jhonston and Thomas Lang because they are really are the finest drummer in our times and not just a drummer but absolutely a good drum teacher. If you want to learn a song, then there are some good people who post their drum covers in Youtube and you can obtain some techniques from them.

  • Do Not Compare Yourself

For some reasons, drummers will always compare their own weaknesses with another drummer’s strengths. There is really no way to feel good about yourself if you do that. Your style of drumming is your own, and you must develop it the best you can. You don’t need to drum like anyone else. Be your own best friend and realize you have something special the world needs to hear.

  • Keep Your Passion Stirred Up!

Just as what I always say, never never give up! Don’t let anything or anybody drag you down. If you dream to become “the best drummer”, then it will surely become a reality only if you will dedicate yourself on it and never loose hope.

There you have it! Better start practicing now. Who knows you’ll be the next rockstar who will pump up the music scene tomorrow! So play your heart out!

Family

A complete and happy family is what i always wish for. I was raised by my mother alone, I grew up without a father by my side, and my siblings aren’t with me. We live in different places with different people, far away from each other. My dad has his own family (now he has 3 kids) and my mother has a boyfriend (at last after 15 years) and me, though I’m still with my mom and I have a boyfriend, I feel left alone. Maybe that’s how life goes when your parents have to separate. The children have always to suffer.

When I was a child, whenever I see my parents quarrel, it breaks my heart. There are times that i feel it was all my fault. But good thing, my mother never kept a secret with me. She tells me everything and let me understand all those circumstances in my family.

It’s hard to live with a dysfunctional family. It’s sad. It’s lonely. But despite of that, I’m still happy because even if I only have less time to spend with them, I know how much they love me and how much they care for me.Thank God I have them in my life though they’re far from me.

If God will ask me what do I want before I die, i would definitely tell him that I want to see my whole family happy together. And I know He will never fails me. I can’t wait  for the time that He’ll answer those prayers and I hope it will happen very soon. I Love You!

Rock Your World! \m/

The world of ROCK MUSIC has always been a major interest for me. I have a natural inclination of playing and creating music. For me, it is the best way to speak my mind and to portray my personality. I am an amateur DRUMMER of one of my school’s ROCK BAND and I’m focusing my mind on it next to my studies. Although, nowadays, I’m not yet that excellent, it is my dream to be recognize as the best DRUMMER GIRL of all time. And I believe it will surely become a reality only if I will dedicate myself on it and never loose hope. That’s why I am intent on doing my best to be expert on this field. For now, my temporary source of fulfillment is to perform in school and to join some battle of the bands in which I know it could be my stepping stones to reach my goal. Hearing praises from you folks who appreciates and believes in my talent gives me great satisfaction and inspiration to bring out the best in me. And now, I’m sure that I have enough guts and determination and I’m sincere in my efforts. Who knows?! Someday you’ll see me on your T.V. screens and you might buy tickets for my concerts!!! Well, lets see! Keep on Rockin!
